for rock climbing with kids go to trail cyn, off the west side road. in the first small cyn on your left when just entering the actual cyn is a great and safe place to climb maybe 5.5
for repelling go to monarch cyn which is off the 4 wheel drive road to chloride city. monarch fall is about a 50 foot cliff with an old road to walk back up. use your vehicle for an anchor. the road is an easy 2 wheel drive road up to that point. if you see a large water tank, turn around and take the down hill fork.
i plan on doing a 50 mile hike for grandson [scout] ubehebe crater to spw.
