With your equipment, it should be doable. I did a one day trip from Palmdale to Racetrack via Hunter Mtn in a 2wd Toyo P/U. From the Saline Valley rd & hwy junction to the Racetrack was 3-4 hours. Entire trip with about 4 hr nap was 24 hrs (the alarm clock that got me up was going off again when I got home).
