We should be arriving about the same time, Jessica....Is this your first trip? This will be our fifth consecutive year visiting at this time...I agree with all the advice already given... Looking at the weather maps now, it looks like all the weather activity should be tomorrow and Christmas, resulting in snow on the road. Generally there will be people in and out ahead of us(and you) and the road will have tracks...We havent been the south access in 4 years so I dont know how bad the snow can be, esp with a 2WD pickup... Normally the springs is the most crowded this time of year(we are told), but with the north access closed, who knows... While there, the weather can do anything from warm and sunny to raining and tent blasting wind...and, departure weather is hard to predict, so preparations for an extended stay are a good idea... I don't know if you are aware, but donations of toilet paper and bleach(for cleaning) are always needed...Also, in the lower springs, potluck meals are common, so you may want to plan on that... Hope this helps...have a good trip..see you there! We normally camp near the lower springs...
