Been to Barker Ranch as well as Myers Ranch(now burnt down)quite a few times for photographing purposes,taking GPS readings or just for fun. Every desert has strange sounds at night. Even while stationed at Camp Pendleton which is large but nowhere near as isolated as the Death Valley region you could hear strange things at night. That is what makes Goler Wash so great. In the future I would like to Go to Barker to give it a good clean up and really explore the surrounding area.
