I agree the Jeep Liberty is not a real off-road vehicle. I rented one recently and it constantly scraped even on the main Saline Valley Road. I always notice on the highway that the rear of the Liberty has suspension components that really compromise clearance. Am not sure what happens when a rock tears that bar off. Not to foget about problems related to Jeep reliability (not good).
