The defining difference is that our way of life is based on freedom for all men, thus it is quite noteworthy and should be promulgated at every juncture. This means if you want to drive a big gas guzzling truck to Death Valley you may do so, subject to whether you can afford it or not of course. While acknowledging that there are certain socialist-minded Americans (Like Ariana Huffington) that would take our vehicles and guns away from us, overall our freedoms have persistedly survived.

It is ok, you are correct. For one, we are not interested in the others' ideas of how we should be living. If life was so great elsewhere, the entire world (proverbially speaking) wouldn't be wishing to immigrate to the west, or be dependent on doing business with us.. Nor would they be visiting Death Valley in droves to get a taste of the glorious west like they do.
Clearly the moldy old way of socialism over seas is not working. Instead of whining about us, perhaps the whiners should instead get a clue and change things in their own country..

It is. Americans are not opposed to hearing all the handwringing, whining and "gimme gimme gimme" from the other side of the Atlantic. However the whining becomes especially annoying when it comes from people who visit Death Valley here and so take advantage of our freedom and hospitality.
