On Jan.18 at approximately 1700 hours a dropping was discovered on the floor of Ubehebe crater. The massive size (15 5/16L X 3 3/8D) has led us to believe that it was left by a creature not native to Death Valley. The dropping was discovered in the northwest section of the crater floor. We have taken the dropping in for analysis with the hope of learning how this creature has been able to sustain life in and around the crater.
