I have a long family history with Trona. My grandfather worked there in the 40's at the plant. During the 70's I would spend a couple weeks each summer at our old family friends home there. After a couple of days you got used to the smell. Back then it was a cool little town. When we weren't at the swimming pool north of town (Valley Wells?)then we were at the burger joint at Pioneer Point. I haven't been back in decades but have seen websites and articals that show what is happening to this town. Someday I assume it will be another wide spot in the road like Red Mountain.
