A Few Days in Saline

My wife and I were planning to spend the president's weekend in Saline Valley. I sure hope the weather will co-operate! We were expecting to tent camp at the upper springs and explore some of the northern area, and then move south and explore south and east and Hunter mountain. Maybe a bit too early? Suggestions on where to camp? Our other stays in Saline have been only overniters at the hot springs.
I have a Jeep with good tires and spares and a small trailer to carry camp supplies and extra gas.
