Tonie Seger's caretaker, David Ayers, worked for Tonie 24/7 for several years, he kept her in good health through his hard work and devotion. He could not stay there until "Hell freezes over" and be a squater as you suggest. There are not enough donations to live on and keep the place repaired. Tonie did not live on the donations, she was a retired Navy nurse and had a pention. Dave truly loves the desert and tunnel and has always welcomed everyone including large groups, lost people or people that need help. He has never required a donation, he only pointed to the jar just as Tonie did for the last 40 years. This donation originally paid for the fuel for the lanterns, then later it was used to pay for flashlights, batteries and photocopies she gave away.
