Last year my truck wasn't ready so I ended up renting a vehicle for my annual DV run. I went with National who had the best weekly rate w/unlimited mileage. I ended up with a Grand Cherokee. It served its purpose but it suffered in ground clearance compared to my real 4X4. I took it up Pleasant Cyn and then later up over Steele Pass to Eureka Valley. Make sure they get the insurance option, you never know what may happen out there.
You can try looking up car rentals in Bishop, or get the unlimited mileage feature and drive it from where ever they are from.
