What's best off road? An ice cold Tecate! Just kidding. All I have ever driven off road is a stick shift. My little flat fender Jeep has an SM420 Chevy truck tranny with Granny low (7.06:1), and it sure is nice crawling up or down a steep, rocky, incline. However, I will soon find out how the automatics do it. I am currently building a 61 Willys wagon, and plan to add all the creature comforts like automatic trans, A/C, plush seats, etc. I am getting soft in my advancing old age.
