From a traction and clearance perspective, if the road is in its normally maintained condition (I.E. there was not a major storm the day before) then you should not have any issues. However, and this is true on any of the gravel, rock, and dirt roads, there is always the risk of a cut tire due to sharp rocks. So, avoid overloading the skinny tires you probably have on your Subaru by not packing too many passengers and too much luggage and stuff.
I accompianed my brother through Titus and he did the opposite of what I recommend above and he ended up with two flat tires. He wasn't driving badly or too fast, the tires (rental AWD Aztec) just weren't up to carrying a full load of passengers and luggage on an unpaved road. The first tire had a two inch long cut across the tread. The donut spare lasted about 1/4 mile. I had on hand the patching materials and pump necessary to repair the full sizs tire, so in the end it was no big deal. Note that there is nothing particularly nasty about Titus Canyon road, the same could have happened on any unpaved desert road anywhere in southeastern California.
I highly recommend the trip through Titus Canyon.
