Titus Canyon?

Hello message board!
First time poster here.
I am wondering how rough the road through Titus Canyon is. I am considering doing the trip. I've been advised to rent a pickup truck. I take it that its a bit too rough for a regular car? Is a pickup truck ok, or do you also need 4 wheel drive?
