Yeah that solenoid is a simple electric, not electronic part - BIG difference between an electric solenoid on a mechanically injected diesel and the electronic computer, injectors, and multiple sensors used to run today's complex oilburners. A solenoid is simple and easy to carry. You can even put a switch on the power line to make a useful anti-theft device.
