It all depends on how warm you want to be. It can get down to the 20's at night in the high elevation deserts. Check the elevation. Also if you need cell phone reception, that is also hit and miss in the desert. Midland, northwest of Blythe, California about 30 miles has about 12 rv snowbirds and is big enough for social life but close enough to town for supplies. My favorite spots in winter are northeast of Twenty Nine Palms. There are couple of dry lake beds where I might see 1 person five miles away. Very peaceful but no help if you have a problem.
