The structure was across Surprise Canyon from the Chris Wicht/Novak Camp. The purpose was to extract gold from gold ore. How this was to be done I don't know. I do know that George had constructed a smaller waterwheel at his camp and its function was to move a very large rock over a steel plate crushing rock in the process. I watched that waterwheel in action and it worked. I have some photos of that operation and I will hunt them down and post. George is skilled in the forming of cement structures, he used those skills in his smaller waterwheel.
