People began calling it "Stella's" only because some of them had met her and felt the her name to be synonymous with "Greater View". It is the same situation with the cabin at Anvil Springs long known as "The Rock House" until the early 70's when someone claimed the cabin under Homestead/Mining Laws. This person built the shelves that you now see in the corner to the left of the fireplace and in front of the door facing Striped Butte. He moveed in a propane driven Fridge and full size stove and locked the door. The cabin was locked up for a long period of time and left as it was until someone broke in, took the lock off the front door and over a period of time the propane mechanisim from both the fridge and stove were stolen. BUT because of the shelves people gave meaning to them as such that a GEOLOGIST would use and gave it that name. I was known and still is known by us old timers as "The Rock House" - no dope intended !!
