"Where is Van Dorn's 'Hitchins' Spring'?" In: Proceedings, Third Death Valley Conference on History and Prehistory, p. 28-56. Hitchens Spring IS NOT in Jayhawker Canyon. Additional information is found in: http://www.deathvalley.com/gold/goldarticle15.shtml We think Rood (or Roods) inscribed his names when he returned to Death Valley looking for the gold coins and the Gunsight Lead. Remember: History is not a myth agreed upon. Olesen has now floated sone additional myths. It will be interisting to see how many people agree with him. The above cited post on the Gold section of this Web site has some strong points that Olesen should have carefully considered. Fortunately Olesen did not continue rambling on about the "Flowing stream" In a few more sentences he would have morphed Manly's words into a raging river with a run of salmon! I base this comment on what he did with the bones morphing into an Indian mummy. LeRoy
