As I remember Last Chance's write-up covered it real well. But if you turn North to soon before the gravel pit, you will head up the hard core trail, but no big deal you will stop and turn around at the first falls. Well worth the time lost (appox. 1 hour. up and back) getting to explore the area. I have eaten B-fask in Ridgecrest drove the slate range, goler wash, warm springs, out Wade road to Baker for dinner in one day. I don't have any GPS reads, got to start doing that someday. :-) Basicly if you get onto any little used two tracks trails, that is not the right road, just stay on best road in front of you, once you turn off 178.
