Shoshone is nice has lodging, a museum, food, groceries. Tecopa is 8 miles south of Shoshone, with wonderful mineral hot springs.

Ibex pass is not a big pass. The views north on 127 from the 15 are wonderful. If you have time on the way in, stop at Salt Creek. It's a reparian habitat and there is a nice easy trail to walk with education signs.
