We went up the west side to Cerro Gordo on Dec 30th. Our first time-in a Quest van with no 4x4. Some parts of the road were very steep for the van and we barely made it to the top. Road in excellent condition. No snow. Coming down we stopped a couple of times to let the brakes cool down. I wouldn't recommend it, but it's possible. So glad I didn't miss the experience. The warm welcome we got and the views were the best part of our trip. Even our 3 teenage girls can't wait to return. That really says A LOT!
