Unlike the infamous con man, Death Valley Scotty, I am a civil engineer licensed in the State of California and living in Ventura County, California. With a wife, 4 year old boy, and another on the way it is very difficult making the trip out to DV on a consistent basis. I try to get out there twice a year with my buddy. My favorite spots are in the Panamint Mountains, Racetrack Valley, and the Saloon at Stovepipe Wells. Like Bob, I envy those of you who can just get up and go to DV. My trips usually have to be planned a couple months in advance.
Two things that I do have in common with Walter Scott, aka Death Valley Scotty:
- my undying love for Death Valley and its beauty
- my wish to be buried there after a long life
I truly enjoy reading the messages on this site, and please - post more pictures. It makes me feel like I’m right back out there.
