ATV exploring group

Howdy
A friend and I each purchased Polaris Sportsman 500 ATVs about a year ago. Being veteran explorers of the US west, we visualized the ATVs as broadening the scope of our exploration abilities.
Now, we are thinking of assembling a small, dedicated exploring group that has an interest in western US mining history, natural history and which would use 4wd utility ATVs(no "sport" ATVs) as a tool to explore deep into remote areas of the western US. We also want to revisit some of the areas we visited previously in the trucks. Some of these areas would require a 4wd utility machine (such as the Polaris Sportsman machines) with a payload capability for overnight camping eqipment.
No, we don't intend to explore in Death Valley NP proper, and yes we stick to existing trails.
