You're right, Goody, the rock cabin has its own charm, as does its setting. The Osborne is not cluttered or crowded with the remnants of greater mining activity as at the Lookout City/Modoc Townsite/Minnietta, et al, complex. My trips so far have been busy busy, and I haven't had the chance to just go hiking around and exploring.
