Russells is no good if you are alone. Too many freaks like that camp.In december I was there and some Manson wanna-be showed up at midnight and wanted to borrow fingernail polish. Myself and camper smith-wesson asked him to leave. He was friendly but it is nerve racking to be so close to Barker when you are in the solo mode. Another time a convoy of jeeps came up the road at the fastest speed I have ever seen an off roader do- When he saw the lantern he turned around at Mach 1 in Dead battery road and vanished at the same high speed. All I saw was a single axle military trailer pulled by a land cruiser and the driver was drinking some sort of amber.I could hear them all the way from from the rock cabin and when I took coffee over there in the morning they were gone....Strange folks in the desert........
