THE ALBUM Magazine was a quarterly magazine put out by the former Chalfant Press in Bishop, CA. Chalfant produced the Inyo and Mono County newspapers of the eastern Sierra region of California. Chalfant also published books and annual souvenier publications.
I was a regular contributor to THE ALBUM from 1989-1995. Chalfant was sold to Scripps, the newspaper syndicate, in 1996. Scripps was only interested in the newspapers and sold the rights to reprint Chalfant's books and other publications to a private individual. The individual attempted to keep THE ALBUM alive, but couldn't make a go of it and ceased publication.
