There was a road built in the 1920's? that went from Lee Flat down into San Lucas Canyon and into the Saline Valley. The road is washed out in the canyon except for a portion that was blasted out of a cliff face to traverse a 200 to 300 foot waterfall. This still remains and even has a regiter for hikers to sign similar to those found on summits of peaks. It is a great hike and was a great 4X4 trail until the Park Service took over. It is amazing to see the effort that went into building this road. A few years ago I dropped some friends off at the top of San Lucas Canyon, they hiked down the waterfall and out to the Saline Valley, across the dry lake to the Springs SEVERAL hours later. The springs never felt better. Kevin
