Dale, I know this isn't what you or some others are looking for, BUT. There are lots of places native american camped at, they all have good location in common. Read Joel's and other people's stuff, anything that has posted locators is a basic tour stop and not worth going to. So, look for places that Native American's would have camped at, which you can learn about from reading. Since you "do a bit of exploring around the Mojave and Death valley areas" you will find these sites, and once you find something on your own,I hope you will get a better understanding as to why we are so anal about this stuff. A few have even lerned it's not good to even locate historic spots to BLM, or Park staff. I used to feel plane crash debris was just trash in the desert, but not that I have found them as I explore without anyone telling about it before hand. Now I new regard for stuff I knew was trash before that. So maybe this helps you understand our regard for Native American artifacts, and almost anything else we find. One reason people post stories, is just to let other know whats out-there, it not the bleak desert some think it is, but a great learning place.

Happy hunting
