I was just through Goler wash Saturday, 10/18/03. The trail is mostly good for high clearance vehicles with 4WD. Entering Goler at the Panamint Valley side, there is a couple of mildly rough spots, but low gears and common sense renders them harmless. Approaching Mengle pass there are a couple of rocky sections with moderately sharp turns, but not horrendous. Just over the pass about a tenth of a mile or so, there is a section of steep down grade with lots of rocks, drop offs and holes that could snag your undersides, but again, slow it down and keep your wheels on the high stuff whenever possible and you should be alright in most decent 4WD vehicles.

We went in last Monday, the 13th, and came back out on Saturday the 18th. I was a little concerned about climbing back up that section I last mentioned, but it went without even a whimper.

To qualify my statements, I should mention that We were both driving early Willys "Jeeps", and pulling heavily loaded Jeep trailers (Korean war surplus).

My Jeep is a 48 CJ2A, and my brother's is an early M38 (Mid 40's?). We both are running Buick V6 engines with granny low 4 speed truck trannies. He has 4:88 gears in the differentials, and I am running 5:38's.
