Art, I have been through darwin many times. No cell phone reception. It was once a very productive copper mining town. Darwin falls is a significant year round water source. Darwin is now a secular town. A few people still live year round there. Traveling south of darwin on the dirt roads is extremely restricted by the china lake naval weapons center boundries. 30 years ago the military would ignore trespassers. Now they arrest them. Darwin reminds me of a junk yard. I have never been to ballarat. Enjoy the beautiful desert.
