I hiked into Beveridge in April of '84, and it was the toughest hike yet. The easiest way in is above the talcum mine that is about 3000 feet above the valley floor. Drive to the upper level of the mine, and there is an old trail that starts there. It is probably not maintained, but it is passable, and it leads into the upper part of the Beveridge area. Many artifacts about, and plenty of water. Late season weather can be a factor that high, though
