There is way more info on the internet about Death Valley (and in general the Mojave Desert) than you can put in one English paper! Please take a minute to go to the website of the Mojave Desert Heratage & Cultural Association; www.mdhca.org. This is an organization whose principal goal has been to restore the Goffs Schoolhouse (circa 1914) and to collect desert history. My suggestion is that you might even want to narrow your scope to, say, "Early Migration Across the Mojave Desert" or perhaps zero in on one colorful Death Valley Character such as "Death Valley Scotty" and you can incorporate lots of Death Valley history that way. Sorry I didn't read your post sooner...I hope your due date hasn't passed! Please just ignore the synical comments of these old desert rats and be sure you put it in your report that too much time in the desert dries out your brain!
