According to the winter 1994 surviver magazine there are three cabins up McElvoy Canyon. These were built by the beekeeper of McElvoy Canyon. He built ladders of bailing wire and limbs to go up and down the falls. Before you enter the canyon proper there is the remains of one of his cabinson the north side of the wash.
