I have NEVER had an unpleasent experience in my many visits to Saline Warm Springs. Period. Even in bad weather, or when most crowded, both of which I try to avoid, but am not always successful.

I've heard that occasionally one may find themselves camped next to a drunken or inconsiderate visitor that likes loud music blaring into the night, or a disrespectful visitor that allows their dog(s) to roam and/or bark excessively or threateningly. Either you might find at any campground.

Should you find this to be the case, my advice is to avoid confrontation completely. Frankly, and at risk of sounding like a wuss, I would simply move and go elsewhere. The place is large enough to easily find another campsite. It is my understanding that bad things come from backcountry confrontations.

Dispite there being enforceable rules and regs regarding visitor behavior at the Warm Springs, the nearest Ranger is likely to be hours away. As an alternative to informing offending visitors of the rules, even politely, I'd advise you to note the behavior and vehicle make/license plate, then, if appropriate, report it to Rangers at your next opportunity.

I believe it is arguements and confrontations that spark the negative encounters one occasionally hears about.
