Thanks, David. The turnoff for Lee Mines is about 2 1/2 miles before (or south of) the turnoff for Lee Flat. Yes, you have the route described perfectly.

This should be no problem. I think I know where you're talking about now - essentially across from the turn-of for Lee Flat (maybe north of that). The canyon drops into Panamint Valley, and it sounds like you come out by the dunes. I don't see any reason why we can't pull this off, including dropping off your car.

Hey David, Fri or Sat would be fine. We'd love to start early if it wouldn't be too much trouble, as it's an 18 mile hike. A 4wd would be ideal, but if unavailable, we could just take our rental SUV and you could drive it back to PSR.

The Lee Mine turnoff is a little under 6 miles down Saline Valley Road from the Hwy 190 turnoff. It's just a short dirt HC road from pavement to the hike starting point at the top of Lee Wash

I've been wanting to one-way hike Lee Wash for years from top-to-bottom but logistics has prevented it.

EDIT - just looked and you can do a Google Maps search showing the route from PSR to Lee Mines. It says 35 minutes, 20.6 miles (not including the dirt road part). I also did some measurements, and if we can drop our vehicle off on the Big Four Mine / Lake Hill Road, it drops off 2 miles of hiking, which brings it down to 16 miles one-way.

Hi Steve;

Thursday is out, since I'll be greeting at PSR all day. Friday or Saturday would certainly be a possibility. Where exactly is Lee Wash, as I'm not familiar , at least not by that names. What do we need for a vehicle - rental car (which I'll have), standard 4wd (which I can borrow) or rockcrawler (whoch I may or may not have mine available)?

Hey David, any chance of catching a ride from PSR up to the head of Lee Wash by the Lee Mine on either Thurs, Fri, or Sat that weekend?

Will be at my usual spot at the front table at PSR, greeting guests for Thanksgiving dinner. Plan on arriving on Tuesday, leaving Monday. Hoping to get in a day or two of wheeling, but may depend on whether Jeep is running.

I'm going to have to try and make it to Goldpoint for day after T-day dinner soon.
