Welcome to the board! I'm glad to see you post here. I know your post is directed towards Sun Valley Joe, but I figured I'd chime in as well. My son, Noah has a lot in Darwin, almost to the base gate. We have a couple of friends in Darwin as well. And Noah just bought a place in Keeler, so I guess he's putting down some roots.

I'm curious who your friend in Darwin is... I've known some folks there for almost 40 years (from when I lived in Lone Pine in the 1980s), and a couple of years ago I bought a house here from the son of a Darwin friend. I now live in Darwin full time.

I have been friends with the owners of Cerro Gordo back to when Jack & Barbara Smith owned the mountain. Wally Wilson (Barbara's first husband) got the mountain from the bankrupt mining company, and it has been in the related family continuously until it was sold in 2018. I have met two of the new owners. From what they told me, they would like to bring it back to how it was when Mike & Jody were there. M&J got the old American Hotel restored and were running it as a bed & breakfast, complete with a county health dep't approved restaurant. Jody passed away not long after that. Mike passed away a few years later, leaving the mountain to his eldest son, who sold it. The new owners also mentioned about possibly extending accommodations to make the bunkhouse an air b&b place. Other than that, I get the sense that they want to preserve the town as it is.

Money pit is running well. Maybe it's starting to pay off after everything invested in it. Noah and I took a trip to Moab in October, and did some nice trails. Didn't break anything on the trip, so happy about that.

how is the money pit doing(JEEP). I will diff stop at PSR to see Noah if I make the trip. I was going thru old pictures from Army days in the 60's and remember how many times we barley made it back to base after tearing up the jeep or 3/4 ton with our driving. Guess I am lucky I made it home.LOL GBA!SVJ

Spring trips have been vetoed by the CEO. Too much work to do on the house here in New York. I'm not happy, but I don't see that changing until I get some stuff done.

Hey Dave hope all is well. It takes awhile for news to reach Reno from Darwin and Keeler. What are your plans for spring trip. I am going to give it another shot for DV this spring all depends on VA apps. GBA!!SVJ
