Is that your altruism or a Friday-night procession of Tequila Poppers talking? ;-) Sorry for ribbing you, but you are absolutely correct; the sound ideas, valid arguments, and thoughtful rationalism expressed in this forum supporting our cause do very little if it is only the lunatic fringe that actively mobilizes itself and gets itself heard in Washington.
Ironically, there's a link directly to the Hon. D. Feinstein buried in an old post on this forum (I've posted the link below). The post is a tongue-in-cheek jibe at some of Dezdan's own cheekiness, but at the bottom is a link that will take you directly to Finklesteins senate web site (including an email link to her office). I corresponded briefly with her shortly after Sept. 11 and she (or at least her staff) does read and respond to this email link (I never heard back from Boxer's office). Now that you've lit the fire under my ... er, ... "backside" I think I'll do as you suggest and just shoot her an email supporting our position on wilderness road closures.
