Mahogany Flat is a pretty nice campground. It's small but not likely to be busy unless you try to go on a holiday weekend. Not sure exactly how many spaces, maybe 15??? It's free to camp there, but the spaces have no numbers. There are picnic tables, an outhouse, pit fires. I made it there in April in my 2WD drive Saturn so I'm sure you'll have no problem in a pickup. The last bit is pretty bumpy. Depending on your conditioning, the hike to the peak will take about 8 hours, give or take. It's best to go before the end of Daylight Savings Time so you don't have to worry about getting down before dark. Te hike is approx. 14 miles round trip with about 3,000 ft. gain.....at altitude. It's not a walk in the park, but there's a good trail all the way and it goes through some really pretty terrain. The views are spectacular all around -- Death Valley to the east, Panamint Valey to the west. Good luck!
