You may want to check out the new Wrangler Rubicon. Some of the off-road magazines have some good write ups on them. They come equipped with locking diffs, upgraded suspension, etc. Pretty much off road ready with a warranty. Get a hardtop version and put a nice ConFer roof rack on and you will have a decent hi-mobility exploration vehicle for 2 people and gear. You can always take the hard top off for the sunny days, and even convert to a soft top for flexibility. This set up is not to roomy for more than 2 people or a family. That's when you get a tow bar for the Wrangler and tow behind the Suburban. IMHO
