Drinking and off-roading

Is it possible for a ranger to give a person a DUI in the back country (Death Valley or BLM)? It seems that it is not uncommon to wash down the dust with a cold one or two while out exploring. I'm wondering if anyone has heard of anyone being arrested for an open container or drunkeness.
