Okay, thanks a lot. That's too far to drive from the north just to check it out and see how bad it is... So it's definitely too mangled to pick your way through with a big 4x4, eh? And I suppose they could probably issue a ticket for that since the road is officially closed?

How about the Steele Pass road from Eureka? I haven't been on that in years. I'll be in a 4x4 Suburban this time, though, instead of my Toyota. Any chance it'll fit through the narrows (I'd only need to go downhill as we'd exit Saline to the south or via Lippincott Mine Rd.)
