Possum does not say that the hill is 30 miles long, nor does he say the trip must be completed in one hour. If it is 30 miles long, there is of course no way to average 60 an hour over the course of the one hour. However, if he travels 90 MPH, he will average 60 miles per hour for the whole trip, and the trip will take him two hours.
30 miles + 90 miles divided by two hours = 60 miles per hour, by the math I learnt anyhow.
