So many people think the Power Wagon was Tex Watson's. I have it on very good authority (from multiple people) that it was not Tex's. But, hey, it makes for a great story, right?

yes to many names of front cover. They also talked about Butte Valley and some guy walking in their camp. He said was was going to take their stuff and kill them. They shot him and buried him on the spot early 50's I think.Svj

I just finished a book called Last Prospectors of Death valley. There is a photo of old Army power wagon that they used in the 50's.They talk about leaving equipment in Ballarat when the went back to LA area for provisions. The truck in photo looks the same cept front end could have been repaired with different parts. This might explain a lot of stories who owned the truck. I bought the book in Shoshone museum some years back. They also talk about meeting Charlie and him trying to con them a few times good read. SVJ 2nd photo Viking mine on way to south pass
