Welcome! It's hard to visit as often as you like, when living far away; that I can appreciate.

Visiting since the 50's? Wow, please share some of your stories from back then, as things were so different than they are now. I date from the late 60s to DV, and have witnessed much change. I'd love to hear some of your experiences.

Hi everyone. My name is Davis, third one in the family, "D3".
I have been visiting the Death Valley area since 1950. I used to live in Barstow, but, now I live in Hendersonville, TN, a half hour north east of Nashville.

New site looks real sharp! I'm active on dv-net and mojave explorers among some others. Love the non crowded, scenery, history, and mystery of Death Valley!

Hello fellow desert explorers. I'm Mitch. Since 2005, I've been travelling down from Seattle at least twice every winter to see old friends and find new amazing people and places. You may have met up with me before.... Short guy, green wrangler, Washington state plates. Usually traveling alone. Most everyone here in Seattle thinks my Death Valley obsession is a little strange. I consider myself Seattle's foremost authority on the Death Valley area. See ya at Saline Valley next December!

Blackturle, I don't think "Trona to Tecopa, Telescope to Teakettle" flows as nicely as Lowell's lyrics.

I suppose the route from Tehachapi to Tonopah is more likely to go through Bishop than Trona, although if he's driving "the backroads" in order not to get weighed, I suppose Trona might be a possibility. Great song in any case!
